Toon Gerbrands is the author of the very successful book ‘The art of coaching’ (‘De kunst van coachen’). The title is typical for the way he works and his vision on performing. People should work together to reach their ultimate goal: winning and performing.

Winning principles are important to coaches. The world’s best coaches distinguish themselves by their list of achievements. Toon Gerbrands has proven that his approach works. The former coach led the Dutch Men’s National Volleyball Team for the first time in history to European victory. Later the team qualified for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, became the world’s number one and was announced Sports Team of the Year in the Netherlands.

Club coach Toon Gerbrands got his team to win the European Cup, which was unique, and, thanks to his special approach and vision, four national titles, two cups and three supercups.

Toon Gerbrands also is a very experienced and successful corporate manager and interim manager. Under his leadership the city of Harderwijk won an important environmental prize in the Netherlands. He is general manager of football (soccer) club AZ. His clear vision has led to remarkable results in recent years. Mr Gerbrands has also been director of the skating teams of the Dutch Skating Association (DSB), where he was also responsible for the sponsoring department.

He is a very versatile man with a broad experience. His passion, approach and vision guarantee a very inspiring lecture. Sports and management are used as metaphors.
