Rainer Erlinger

Rainer Erlinger is a doctor, lawyer and journalist. Hes best known for his weekly “Gewissensfrage” column (“Questions of Conscience”) in the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, a weekly supplement to the Munich-based Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germanys largest national broadsheet newspaper. In this column, he answers reader-submitted questions about moral issues. Erlinger has contributed regular radio columns to Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting (RBB) and West German Broadcasting (WDR) and a TV-column to ARD-Buffet on the ARD, Germanys leading public broadcasting channel. He also publishes extensively in newspapers, magazines and scientific journals, is the author of several books and has hosted television programs. In the winter semester of 2008-2009, Augsburg University invited Erlinger to join the Department of Philosophy and Social Science as a guest professor. He lives in Berlin.
