About Fran Equiza

Fran started working as Director of International Programs in Barcelona at Oxfam Intermón in 2003 until 2008. Following his year in Barcelona, he moved to Mexico to work as Regional Director Latin America and the Caribbean for two years, just before moving to Nairobi (Kenya) in 2010. Since 2010, Fran is the Regional Director of Horne, East and Central Africa.

Due to his career and vast years of experience in the field, Fran Equiza is an expert in managing NGO projects, how to implement them and most importantly, how to change people’s perception of cooperation and humanitarian actions. Recently, he has been spending all his resources and time in explaining how cash transfers are more useful to help poorer populations to develop their own, independent projects.
