Carlo Ratti investigates how new technologies are changing the way we look at cities. “Thanks to an enormous amount of data an increasing number of invisible movements have become visible. The physical and digital world come together rapidly”, says Ratti, who loves to speak about smart cities, where all is connected by the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n
As an architect and engineer by training, Carlo Ratti practices in Italy, where he is the founding partner of Carlo Ratti Associati studio, and teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, where he directs the Senseable City Lab. He graduated from the Politecnico di Torino and the \u00c9cole Nationale des Ponts et Chauss\u00e9es in Paris, and later earned his MPhil and PhD at the University of Cambridge, UK.<\/p>\n
Carlo Ratti has been featured in Esquire Magazine\u2019s \u2018Best & Brightest\u2019 list and in Thames & Hudson\u2019s selection of \u201860 innovators\u2019 shaping our creative future.
