Lionel Stol\u00e9ru was the Economic adviser of Val\u00e9ry Giscard d\u2019Estaing, the Secretary of State for Labour in the government of R. Barre and the Secretary of State for Economic Planning in the government of M. Rocard in 1988, to create the \u201cMinimum Income Scheme\u201d which he had proposed in one of his books.<\/p>\n
From 1992 to 1997, he was the Economic adviser of the President of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
He was from 2000 to 2007 the Chairman of the Economic Council of Paris for seven years.<\/p>\n
Since then, he has been responsible for the economic missions for President Nicolas Sarkozy, especially to prepare the \u201cSmall Business Act\u201d under the French Presidency of the European Union, and to prepare the French G20 in 2011.<\/p>\n
Since his early childhood, and during all his life, music took an important place. He studied piano and conducting at Stanford. At the end of his studies, he hesitated between a career in economics and a musical career.<\/p>\n
In 1991, when he left the government, he decided to resume professionally his musical activity by creating his own orchester, the \u201cEuropean Romantic Orchester\u201d, specialized in the romantic repertoire (fifty professional musicians, yearly concert season at Salle Gaveau, Paris).<\/p>\n
