Theo Jansen studied Technical Science in Delft, Holland, but he became a painter. Since 1990 he is occupied making a new forms of live. Not pollen or seeds but plastic yellow tubes are used as the basic material of this new nature. He makes skeletons that are able to walk on the wind, so they don\u2019t have to eat. During the years, they became better and the better in surviving circumstances, like storm and water. Eventually he wants to put these animals out in herds on the beaches, so they will live their own lives.<\/p>\n
Theo Jansen was columnist of the Volkskrant (national Dutch Newspaper) from 1986-2008. There were articles about his work in the New Scientist, Wired and Popular Science.<\/p>\n
