About MartI­ DomI­nguez

Martí Domínguez is a polifacetic man. He can be described as a 21st century Renaissance figure. He combines his time between science and it´s dissemination and aims to improve the world as a teacher and writer. Nowadays, he is professor in Journalism at the Universitat de València. At the same time, he is the editor in chief of Mètode magazine, a quarterly publication focusing on bringing science closer to the regular public. Being the editor in chief of Mètode, Martí Domínguez has been awarded with the National Journalism Award in 2007 given by the Culture and Media Department of Generalitat de Catalunya.

As a scientist, he has a PhD in Biology by the Universitat de València. His passion for Darwin has led him to become the director of the Biblioteca Darwin (Darwin Library), coordinated by both Laetoli and the Universidad Pública de Navarra – the organisation in charge of publishing the complete works of Charles Darwin to the Spanish Language.

Nonetheless, Martí Domínguez has –surprisingly- further time to dedicate to other activities. He has writen several books such as Les confidències del comte de Buffon (The Confidences of the count Buffon) which, won the prizes Andròmina, Crexells and Crítica from the Universitat de València. El secret de Goethe (Goethe’s Secret) was also a prize winner: Prudenci and Crítica from the Universitat de València and El retorn de Voltaire (Voltaire’s Return) was awarded with the Josep Pla prize, one of the most prestigious literary competitions in the Catalan Language. Alongside his published book, Martí Domínguez also writes for different newspapers, like El Temps, La Vanguardia, Ara and El País.
